Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum

The Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum, originally the Gonzalez-Montemayor House, underwent an extensive restoration to preserve its historic architectural character while transforming it into a space for cultural preservation and education. Built in 1926, the two-story red-brick building had fallen into disrepair before being revitalized as part of the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Project. This project not only preserves Laredo’s architectural history but also contributes to the revitalization of its downtown.
